Skiing and Snowboarding at BIG WHITE

  •  30 minutes drive from Melcor's Black Mountain
  •  Average of 24.5 ft of Okanagan Champagne Powder failling annually. 
  •  118 runs fanning from the summit, 2,565 acres of skiable terrain, 16 lifts
  •  TELUS Terrain Park which is the best progressive in North America
  •  25 kms of an assortment of trails

Nordic Skiing at McCULLOCH LAKE

  • Added adventure to Melcor's trails for both cross-country and snowshoeing.
  • 50 kms of trails
  • 6.3 kms past the Big White turnoff, go right and follow the signs along McCoullough Road about 4.5 kms to trailheads

Nordic Skiing at other facilities

  • Sovereign Lake Nordic area near Silver Star Mountain with 60 kilometres of maintained trails
  • Telemark X-C Ski Club adjacent to Crystal Mountain offer rentals, a lodge and backcountry / snowshoe trails.

Curling

  • 12 sheets of ice for curling in Kelowna and 4 sheets of ice in Winfield

Skating

  • Rutland Arena is within a 10 minute drive from Melcor's Black Mountain.
  • There's also Prspera Place, Kelowna Memorial Arena, Capital News Centre Arena and the new outdoor rink downtown at Stuart Park.

Swimming Pools

  • Within 10 minutes of Melcor's Black Mountain, you'll find Athens Pool - YMCA-YWCA. 
  • Within 20 minutes, you'll find the H20 Adventure Centre and Parkinson Recreation Centre. 

Bowling Lanes

  • There are five pin and 10 pin bowling alleys within 10 minutes of Melcor's Black Moutain.

Arts & Music
